Categories of the Schengen visas

Categories of the Schengen visas Category A. Airport transit visa. It is given to the people who make flight by the transit through the country of Schengen area. It is a permission to stay in the transit territory of the airport zone of Schengen country, but it does not give the right to move from the airport zone. This type of visa is not given to the citizens of states, which have the agreement about a visa-free stay in the territory of the Schengen countries. Category B. The transit visa, which gives to its owner right of one, two or as an exception several times to proceed through territory of one of the member states of Schengen agreement along the route in the third state, the duration of a transit stay cannot exceed five days. This type of visa is not given to the citizens of states, which have the agreement about a visa-free stay in the territory of the participating countries of Schengen agreement. Category C. The tourist visa, valid for one or several entrances, moreover the duration of a continuous stay or the total duration of several stays, beginning from the moment of the first entrance, cannot exceed three months during half a year. Category D. National visas for the period of a stay which exceeds 90 days, but which does not exceed 365 days. As it’s a national visa its given by each state in accordance with their national legislation. This visa gives to its owner the right of the transit passage through the territory of other states of Schengen group for the purpose of entrance to the state territory, which gave out visa. The time of transit cannot exceed 5 days. Category C+D. Visa, which unites in itself 2 previous categories. This visa is given by one of the Schengen states for a long-term stay by the period, which does not exceed 365 days in the territory of a state that gave out visa. In the addition it makes possible for its holders to stay in all countries of Schengen agreement during first 3 months from the moment of visa issuing.
